Artist Show Opening
Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota is bringing Polish
artist Joanna Sułek-Małinowska to Minneapolis for a three-week showing
and sales of her works at the Northrup King Galleries,
1500 Jackson St. NE, Minneapolis. The opening reception will be
on September 19 in Gallery 332 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event is

Polish Genealogy Society Meeting
The PGSMN is sponsoring a program on Saturday, September 20, at the MGS
Library, 1185 N. Concord St. , South St. Paul , MN which will feature
genealogist Danuta Jampolska, Foreign Exchange Co-coordinator for the

Holy Cross Fall Festival
The Polish Committee will be selling traditional foods which can be
eaten while listening to a variety of polka bands. Church is located at
17th and University in Minneapolis , MN . The Polish Rosary
is looking for new articles that were perhaps received as gifts and are
not need. The articles will be wrapped and sold at the Festival in the

Fall Festival continued
Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621
University Ave. NE , Minneapolis . Festivities begin Saturday after
4:30 PM mass. Featured polka band, our local Dr. Kielbasa. On Sunday,
John Filipczak & The CLASSICS will perform a polka Mass at 10:00 AM and
play at the Festival 12:00 Noon-4:00 PM. Chicken dinner at the school
starting at 11:30 AM. Polish food under the tents. For more

Evening with Polish Poets
"An Evening with the Polish Poets" at
the Gasthof zur Gemutlichkeit, 2300 University Ave. N.E. , Mpls.
We will be reading from the works of Adam Zagajewski, Krzysztof
Kamil Baczynski and Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Wislawa
Szymborska, The readings will be in both Polish and English.
Come and enjoy an evening of beautiful poetry. Come at 6:00 pm
and enjoy dinner or appetizers and some wonderful wines, on your
own. Cash bar. Readings will start at 7:00 pm.

Chopin Society Offering
This Sunday’s feature artist is
21-year-old Sara Daneshpour who studied with Leon Fleisher at
The Curtis Institute for five years. Her stunning virtuosity and
intense musicality win the accolades of audiences and critics
and have garnered her international awards as well. Performance
is at 3:00 PM in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, 130
Macalester Street , in St. Paul . Free parking is available.

Fall Booya
Polish American Club, 1003 Arcade
Street , St. Paul , MN . Booya served October 24th from 5:00
PM; October 25th from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM. Eat in or bring
in your own container to take out. All musicians are welcome to
join in a jam session. Any remaining booya will be sold on
Sunday the 26th, from Noon until it is gone.
Crowd-pleasing, mouth-watering recipe is prepared by Chef Bob
Zabel. Help is needed to chop ingredients on October 20th
starting at 9:00. Bring your favorite paring knife and join in
on the fun. Lunch will be provided. Volunteers are needed all

Polish Soup Festival
The location of the Festival has changed
to Kolbe Hall, lower level of John Paul II School , Holy Cross
Church complex. The International Institute was just too
small. We will be serving at least a dozen different Polish
soups with bread and desserts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. If there
is any soup left over at that time, it will be sold. Tickets
are $10 at the door. Dolina Polish Folk Dancers (gifts) and
Sacred Heart Church (pierogi) will have tables. We are looking
for volunteers to make soup and also to work at the event as
servers, greeters, kitchen help, table cleaners, etc. Please
