Why Should I Become a Member?

Your membership in the Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota shows that you value our Polish heritage and want to keep it a vibrant part of the multi-ethnic mosaic of Minnesota.

Your membership and that of the hundreds of others keeps PACIM a strong organization that can continue to organize and sponsor events of interest to the community as well as bring internationally known groups to Minnesota such as Mazowsze and other cultural groups and artists.

Your membership is a vital part of our grant application process. It is evidence that PACIM is a well supported, growing and responsive to the needs of Poles, Polish Americans and all those who share a love for Polish culture and heritage.

Your membership supports PACIM financially so that funds, volunteers and energy can be spent on events, exhibits, programs, etc. and not on fundraising.

Your membership makes you and your family eligible for the Chester S. Rog Endowment Fund scholarships.

Your membership grants you full access to our library of over 4300 titles including DVDs of Polish films with English subtitles.

Your membership offers discounts on our Polish language classes and other programs and events.

Your membership ensures that you are the first to know of upcoming events.

Your membership brings to you our monthly publication, Pol-Am, with articles on the history, culture and traditions of Poles and Polish Americans as well as contemporary Polish items of interest.

Your membership enables you to be an active part of our efforts to celebrate and showcase Polish culture and heritage here Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Your membership, in addition to granting you all the above benefits, also enables us to carry on with our mission and makes it possible for us to organize our many events and programs. According to the 2000 US Census, 240,405 people claimed Polish ancestry in Minnesota, making Minnesota number 12 in the country, yet the Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota can claim but 600 members. Each year more and more people in Minnesota are able to claim their Polish ancestry by their last name only, having lost all knowledge of the rich culture, traditions and heritage of their forebears. Help us to stop this loss of ethnic pride. Join us as a member, volunteer and get involved.

Help us to stop this loss of ethnic pride. Become a member and join in the fun, be it a European style techno party, a grand Ball or traditional Christmas Eve Wigilia! Volunteer and get involved!
